In "Understanding the Psychology Behind Cyberbullying," Sabrina Carol takes readers behind the screen to examine the motivations, patterns, and personas of those who engage in digital harassment.

This eye-opening third volume in the Protecting Young Minds series provides crucial insights into the psychology of cyberbullying, helping parents, educators, and advocates develop more effective prevention and intervention strategies. Through research-backed analysis and compelling case studies, you'll learn about:

The distinct profiles of cyberbullies—from the Power Seeker to the Laugh Chaser

The emotional and psychological impacts of online harassment on victims

How bystander behaviour influences cyberbullying dynamics and outcomes

Effective rehabilitation approaches for those who bully others online

Legal frameworks and consequences of cyberbullying across jurisdictions

Healing pathways for those who have experienced digital harassment

This essential resource completes Sabrina Carol's comprehensive approach to cyberbullying awareness by addressing all sides of the issue—from prevention and protection to understanding and healing.

Making complex topics digestible for a wide audience

Sabrina Carol’s Behind the Keyboard: The Faces of Cyberbullies is a compelling addition to the Protecting Young Minds: The Cyberbullying Awareness Series. Drawing on her expertise as both a cybersecurity professional and a parent, Carol delivers an insightful guide aimed at fostering digital resilience in children while equipping families with the tools to navigate online challenges.
Strengths
One of the book’s greatest strengths is its practical approach. Rather than simply outlining the dangers of cyberbullying, Carol provides actionable strategies for building emotional resilience, setting boundaries, and creating an environment where children feel comfortable discussing their online experiences. The book balances psychological insight with real-world application, making it an invaluable resource for parents, educators, and caregivers.
Carol's emphasis on positive discipline sets her work apart from alarmist takes on online safety. She encourages families to turn everyday digital conflicts into teachable moments, promoting empathy and understanding in a digital age that often lacks both.
Impact and Relevance
As cyberbullying becomes an ever-growing concern, Behind the Keyboard is more relevant than ever. The book’s focus on conflict resolution, both online and offline, ensures that readers are prepared not just to manage online interactions, but also to instill long-lasting values of respect and resilience in children.
Final Thoughts
Whether readers are new to the subject or experienced in digital parenting strategies, this book offers fresh insights and practical advice. If you're looking for a guide that blends cybersecurity expertise with compassionate parenting, Behind the Keyboard: The Faces of Cyberbullies is a worthwhile read.

Topic that is becoming increasingly important

This in my opinion is a very good book on a topic that is becoming increasingly important both for our children and for ourselves even though with age we think we are immune to the phenomenon. Instead in every post, comment, video that we post we could be the victims of cyberbullying. In the book there are real stories that exemplify the phenomenon and that give us a guide on what we should do in case we find ourselves in one of these unfortunate situations. There is a lot of practical advice on how to deal with situations. Very useful. I received a copy of the book and I am deliberately reviewing it.
